El-Shahat thanks El-Makkasa, promises to do ‘his best’ after Al Ain switch
The 26-year-old joined the UAE Arabian Gulf League side during the January transfer window on a six-month loan deal from Egyptian side Misr El-Makkasa.
Since joining Emirati giants, El-Shahat has produced some great performances, already scoring seven goals and providing 12 assists in 12 appearances across all competitions, which led the Al-Ain board to make his move permanent.
El-Shahat showed his admiration for his former club, Misr El-Makkasa, for making this move possible as well as revealing his excitement to start his new journey with Al Ain.
“I would like to thank coach Zoran Mamic, the coaching staff, and my teammates for the excellent and stimulating atmosphere in the team. I also want to thank the fans for their incredible support,” El-Shahat told the club’s official website.
“I promise to do my best alongside my team to defend the slogan of “the boss”, in order to achieve local and continental championships starting this season,” he added.
El-Shahat’s performances earned him a call-up for the Egyptian national team camp that will take place this month in Zurich, as the Pharaohs are set to face European champions Portugal and Greece.
Al-Ain currently top the UAE Arabian Gulf League with 44 points, four above second-placed Al-Wahda with just three games remaining.
