Township Rollers satisfied with CAF Champions League draw
Botswana’s Township Rollers FC head coach Nikola Kavazovic is satisfied with the team’s draw for the CAF Champions League group stage.
Botswana Premier League champions Township Rollers have been drawn in Group A with Cairo giants Al Ahly, Tunisian giants Esperance Sportive de Tunis and Uganda’s KCCA.
The team’s head coach Nikola Kavazovic reflected on the draw and expressed his satisfaction after being pitted in Group A.
“We have to be satisfied with the draw. Looking at all four groups, Group B (TP Mazembe, MC Alger, Difaa El Jadidi and ES Setif) is the group of death,” Kavazovic said after the draw.
Township Rollers qualified to the group stage after beating Tanzanian side Young Africans 2-1 on aggregate in the round of 32. They overcame Sudanese side Al-Merrikh in the preliminary round.
“We had a group which I personally prefer and I’m happy with. We have to prepare very well and get the three points from our opening match against KCCA at home. Once we have the three points, there will be no pressure on us for the next game,” he added.
