Egypt’s World Cup group rivals have fell short to a 3-0 home defeat against record world champions in the friendly game that was held in Moscow on Friday.

Egypt were drawn in Group A alongside the hosts Russia, Uruguay and Saudi Arabia. The four teams are set to play a series of preparatory friendly matches in order to get ready for the world’s most anticipated competition in the best manner.

The game started calmly with clear dominance from Brazil but the hosts grew gradually in the game. First real chance in the game came for Russia in the 36th minute when Aleksey Miranchuk got the ball under his feet six yards away from goal but he skied the ball over, the half resumed smoothly until the end.

The Seleção entered the second half with a different face using an aggressive approach in an attempt to win the game. Five minutes into the second half, Willian sent a shot on the edge of the box which was deflected off Russia defender then bounced off Akinfeev’s head to a corner.

The corner kick resulted into Brazil’s leading goal after Miranda tapped in Thiago Silva’s header. Few minutes later, Coutinho converted a penalty-kick which was earned by Paulinho, before Paulinho himself made it 3-0 for Brazil after heading a delightful cross from Willian in goal.
