Ahmed Hassan ‘Kouka’: Result against Portugal was unfair
Egypt forward Ahmed Hassan ‘Kouka’ has praised his team’s performance against Ronaldo’s Portugal while claiming the final result was not a fair one.
The Pharaohs found themselves up against Portugal in Switzerland on Friday night after Mohamed Salah broke the deadlock for the team in a familiar fashion.
It wasn’t until injury-time when Cristiano Ronaldo scored back-to-back headers to win the match, leaving the Pharaohs heart broken.
“We are not pleased with the result, we played well against the European champions and were real men on the pitch. We were not afraid from the ‘big’ names that the Portuguese national team possess and gave it our all,” said the Braga striker.
“The result was unfair. We were the better side throughout the match but we have to focus in our coming games and learn from our mistakes,” he concluded.
Egypt take on Greece in their second friendly on the 27th of March and hope to make amends for the dramatic loss against Portugal.
