Ahmed Shokry extends Al Masry contract until 2019
Al Masry’s attacking midfielder Ahmed Shokry has extended his contract with the club until 2019, as he was due to become a free agent at the end of this season before signing again.
The 28-year-old has been one of Al Masry’s more productive players this season, scoring seven and assisting six as the Green Eagles find themselves in 4th place in the Egyptian Premier League and still going strong in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Ahmed Shokry started his career at Cairo giants Al Ahly, and showed a lot of promise for Egypt’s various youth teams in the early part of this decade.
While it did not initially work out at the Red Devils for him, he was able to resurrect his career and earn a move to Al Masry in 2016 where he has impressed enough to earn a renewal at the club.
Shokry will be hoping that his renewal will see him playing continental football again next season, as Al Masry continue their push for the top places in their next game against Ittihad of Alexandria after the international break on the 31st of March, before they travel to Gabon to face CF Mounana in the CAF Confederation Cup.
