Cúper: New faces will feature against Greece
Egypt will take on Greece in their second March friendly on Tuesday. The Pharaohs were reduced from a dramatic 2-1 defeat to Portugal on Friday thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo’s stoppage-time brace.
In the game against Portugal, the 62-year-old manager fielded a full-strength formation and will want to stand on the condition of some of the players with less playing time.
“We will see new faces against Greece. We have players who featured for little time and their participation in the upcoming friendly is essential,” Cúper told ON Sport.
“In spite of that, we will maintain our playing method and focus on the game. This training camp was important to see new players but this doesn’t mean that we aren’t taking the friendlies seriously, instead we care about the results in these games too.”
“From now till announcing the final World Cup squad there is a shortage of time, therefore we have to experiment new players. I was satisfied about the performance against Portugal despite the result.”
