coach Michael Skibbe has hailed the Egyptian national team and boss Hector Cúper ahead of their international friendly on Tuesday, claiming that they maintain chances of winning the World Cup.

Greece had faced Switzerland in friendly game on Friday where they were defeated 0-1 in Athens by Blerim Dzemaili’s goal.

The 2004 European champions are not among the 32 nations that will compete in the 2018 World Cup in Russia as they were handed a tough 1-4 beating against Croatia over two legs in the playoffs.

“Egypt have a great coach who has got plenty of experience and achieved several accomplishments and that’s why they are fantastic. Egypt have their chances to win the World Cup,” Skibbe told ON Sport.

“We hope to appear in a good shape against a tough opponent like Egypt. Surely I know many of Egypt players due to the presence of some of them in the English Premier League, I watched their game against Portugal and they delivered a great display until the final moments.”
