beat 4-1 in a friendly to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the United Arab Emirates-based club.

Al Ahly took advantage of the current international break to participate in the Golden Jubilee celebrations for Al Fujairah. The Fujairah-based club currently play in the first division and currently sit in second place with 36 points from 18 games. Like many celebratory matches, Al Fujairah invited some of the region’s biggest stars including Saudi Yasser Al-Qahtani and Emirati Omar Abdelrahman.

Early on, Al Fujairah had the ball in the net, but was called off for offside on Al-Qahtani after a great cross from Abdelrahman. Five minutes later, Abdelrahman and Al-Qahtani connected again, but the later’s powerful shot was well saved by Ali Lotfi.

Shortly afterward, Islam Mohareb scored Al Ahly’s first goal from Amr El-Sulaya’s pass inside the box. Laster, Al-Qahtani found himself on the end of a counterattack but his shot was deflected by the defense without any danger on Al Ahly’s goal. Throughout the rest of the half, Al Ahly were able to create many chances, but were unable to convert.

In the opening minutes of the second half, Omar Abdelrahman dribbled his way to the edge of the box, but his resulting shot hit the right goalpost. Hossam Ghaly added the Red Devil’s second goal in the 55th minute after the Al Fujairah’s keeper improperly punched the ball away. Mohared quickly completed his brace six minutes later.

Two minutes later, Danilo Carando scored Al Fujairah’s first goal. In the 70th minute, Islam Mohareb completed his hat-trick from Ghaly’s wonderful pass through Al Fujairah’s defense.

Al Ahly will return to competitive play on April 2nd against Tanta in the 30th week of the Egyptian Premier League. Meanwhile, Al Fujairah will face Al Arabi on March 31 in the 19th week of the UAE First Division league.
