legend has compared in-form to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo after his impressive performances with the Reds this season.

The Egypt international has been in an incredible form since joining the Premier League side in the summer transfer window as he has scored 36 goals in 41 games in all competitions so far. The 25-year-old winger also managed to set a series of impressive records in his phenomenal debut campaign with the Reds.

Rush praised the former Chelsea winger and revealed that he would be happy if Salah could pass his club-record of 47 goals in a season, provided he can lead Liverpool to Champions League glory. Salah needs 11 more goals to match Ruch’s 1983-84 goalscoring record.

“You can look at Fernando Torres and Luis Suarez and he (Salah) is up there with any Liverpool forward to have come in [during the Premier League era],” Rush told SkySports.

“He’s been absolutely amazing but the thing with Salah is that he is so down-to-earth as well.

“The game against Watford was the best I have ever seen him play, he was untouchable – not just because of his four goals but also because he wasn’t selfish and was trying to make goals for his team-mates.”

Salah was highly praised by a range of former players and pundits after he scored four goals and assisted one in Liverpool’s 5-0 victory over Watford earlier this month.

“There are only two players I have seen that can play at that level, and that’s Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo,” he added.
