Islam Mohareb has no intention of leaving Al Ahly, targets treble
Al Ahly attacking midfielder Islam Mohareb has professed that he is not willing to leave the Cairo giants, believing that playing for the Red Devils is equivalent to playing abroad.
Despite not playing from the start in most of the games, Mohareb has been a key substitute for Al Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry and was always able to be influential for the Egyptian Premier League triumphant.
Mohareb has scored four goals and assisted once in the domestic competition this term, and is now hoping to build on his good displays to join the Egyptian national team.
“The team aims to achieve the treble this season by winning the league, the cup title and the Champions League. We succeeded in achieving the league, and this season we want to be the cup and the Champions League winners,” Mohareb told Al Ahly TV.
“After I left Al Ahly I joined Gouna then Smouha, and my move to Smouha gave me a big personality to appear in the league in a good shape. My primary goal is to feature for Al Ahly and deliver good performance that allows me join the national team.”
“Before the current season I received several offers from clubs in the league but after receiving Al Ahly’s bid I certainly favoured them.”
