Mohamed Salah equals Cristiano Ronaldo’s record
The Reds were about to walk out of London with only one point, until the Egypt international put on his little magic at the end to give Liverpool a vital away victory.
The Egyptian has now bagged 29 goals in 21 games, to become only the third Premier League player to score in 21 different games after Ronaldo and Van Persie.
Ronaldo fired 31 goals in 34 appearances in 2007/08, while Van Persie converted 26 goals in 38 appearances in 2012/13. It is very likely that Salah could write Premier League history if he scored in any of the remaining six Premier League fixtures for Liverpool.
In addition, no African player has scored more Premier League goals than Salah, as the Pharaoh equaled Didier Drogba’s record with his goal at Selhurst Park.
After hosting Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League this Wednesday, the next Liverpool game in the league will be the Merseyside derby against Everton. Salah will be looking at their previous tie hoping to repeat his same performance against the Toffees.
