Squash: Ali Farag, Tarek Momen reach career high rankings

Egyptian squash players and have achieved their personal best placements in the PSA rankings, moving into 2nd and 5th places respectively in the April rankings.

Farag’s rise is a result of winning two PSA titles this year at the US Open and the Swedish Open in the last three months. It is also worth mentioning that he has overtaken France’s Gregory Gaultier who has suffered from injuries recently after rupturing his adductor.

Tarek Momen has also enjoyed some strong runs this year, as he defeated Ali Farag en route to the Canary Wharf Classic final where he ultimately lost to compatriot Mohamed El Shorbagy.

As always, Egyptians dominated the top end of the rankings with 7 of the top 10. Below is the full top 10:

4) Marwan El Shorbagy – Egypt

5) Tarek Momen – Egypt

6) Simon Rosner – Germany

PSA tournaments to look out for in the not too distant future include the Allam British Open, the Grasshopper Cup and the El Gouna International Squash Open.
