Fujairah chairman hints interest in signing Hossam Ghaly
Al-Fujairah president Nasser Al-Yammahi expressed his club’s interest in signing Al Ahly’s captain Hossam Ghaly after he impressed Fujairah’s coach and legendary former player Diego Armando Maradona.
The Red Devils beat the Emirati side 4-1 during a friendly game in celebration of their 50th anniversary, thanks to a goal from Hossam Ghaly and Islam Mohareb’s hattrick. After the game, Maradona praised the midfielder’s playing style.
“Maradona, the club’s coach, has wonderful relationships with Fujairah players,” Al-Yammahi said in radio comments. “The Argentinian coach loves football stars and players who perform well which was obvious when he was exchanging greetings with Hossam Ghaly.”
“We might see Ghaly wearing the club’s shirt in the next period and be part of Maradona’s squad,” he added. “Everything is possible and the next period could witness a number of changes.”
It is worth mentioning that the 36-year-old player announced that he will be hanging up his boots at the end of the season after his contract with the Cairo giants comes to an end.
