Al Faisaly have no intention of ending Saleh Gomaa’s loan spell, says chairman
Chairman of Al Faislay Fahad Al-Medlej has stated that the Saudi Arabian club have no intention of ending Saleh Gomaa’s contract, adding that Al Ahly haven’t requested to get the player back.
Al Ahly director of football Sayed Abdel-Hafiz stated few days ago that the 24-year-old, who was loaned to the Saudi side on a one-and-a-half year deal, might return to Al Ahly at the end of the current season.
However, Medlej has set it clear that the playmaker is so far going nowhere, and will continue his loan spell at the Saudi Professional League.
“The contract with Al Ahly does not state the possibility of ending the loan at any point. Our relationship with Al Ahly is excellent and I want to thank them for making it easy for us to sign Gomaa last January,” Medlej said in a televised interview.
“You rarely find a player with the talent of Saleh Gomaa, and he’s already starting to return to his form and we are sure he will be one of the most important players for us next season.
“Al Ahly have not sent us any requests to get the player back and we have no intention to end his loan. He will stay with us until the end of his contract as he is a key player to our team,” he added.
Gomaa made six league appearances for Al Faisaly so far and was able to hand in an assist throughout his time at Saudi Arabia.
