Egyptian star Mohamed Salah has been nominated for the UEFA Champions League Player of the Week award after Liverpool’s win over Manchester City on Wednesday.
Salah scored a goal and assisted another in Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals first leg at Anfield.
The Egypt international opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 12th minute. Sadio Mane and Oxlade-Chamberlin were also on the score sheet after the Egyptian assisted Mane’s third goal from a curled cross from the right side of the box.
The Egypt international then limped off the field seven minutes after the interval and was replaced by Georginio Wijnaldum.
Salah’s impressive performance saw him nominated for the award alongside Gerard Pique (Barcelona), James Rodriguez (Bayern Munich) and Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid).
The Egyptian managed to score from one assist while Real Madrid’s Ronaldo scored twice and registered one assist in Madrid’s win over Juventus.
