Salah voted Champions League player of the week
Salah scored his side’s first goal and provided the assist for the Reds’ third goal before getting subbed off due to a groin injury, however these 52 minutes were enough to convince the fans to vote for him as he earned 57 per cent of their votes.
This is the Egyptian’s third Champions League player of the week award this season, as he earned one during match day 1 of the competition following his performance against Sevilla as well as another after Liverpool’s 7-0 over Maribor.
The former Roma man is a having a spectacular season in both the domestic and continental competitions with his Liverpool. He’s currently leading the race for the Golden Boot with 29 goals in the Premier League, he’s also the third top goalscorer in the Champions League with 7 goals.
Salah is still unsure if he’s going to participate in the Merseyside derby on Saturday but he is expected to come back to face Manchester City on Tuesday in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final.
