Ahmed El-Sheikh announces end of Ettifaq loan stint
Egypt international Ahmed El-Sheikh has announced that his loan stint at Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq will end next Thursday.
The Al Ahly midfielder joined the Saudi Pro League side during the winter transfer window on a six-month loan deal, which saw him score twice and assist once in 10 appearances with the club.
El-Sheikh assisted a goal in Ettifaq 4-2 defeat to Ittihad on Friday. He announced on his Twitter account following the game that his side’s game against Al-Taawoun on Thursday will be his last game with the club.
“I thank the club’s board, technical staff, players and everyone who work at the club. Thanks to the Ettifaq fans, I was honoured to be here for this short period. Good Luck,” El-Sheikh tweeted.
El-Sheikh will return to Al Ahly, who have already secured the league title, leaving Ettifaq in ninth on the Saudi Pro League table with 33 points after 25 games.
