Hegazi features as West Brom continue winless streak against Swansea
The former Al Ahly defender played the full 90 minutes, starting alongside Craig Dawson in Albion’s defence, while Ali Gabr was excluded from the team.
12 minutes into the game, Chris Brunt had the first opportunity for the hosts with a long range effort, but Swansea’s keeper Lukasz Fabianski produced a save to deny the midfielder.
28 minutes later Andre Ayew had Swansea’s biggest chance of the half after receiving a great pass into the box but his close range shot inched the right post.
In the third minute of the additional time, Jay Rodriguez was on verge of putting the Baggies in front with a half volley in Swansea’s box but Fabiasnki’s outstanding save kept the result goalles in the first 45 minutes.
Ten minutes into the second half, West Brom took the lead, after Matt Philips’s delivery found Rondon’s headed touch to Jay Rodriguez who tapped it into the empty net to put his side in front.
However Albion’s lead lasted for only 20 minutes as Swansea City managed to equalise through Tammy Abraham who headed Sam Clucas’ corner home.
Swansea City intensified their attamepts for the rest of the game but they failed to translate as both teams share the points of the game.
The result means that West Brom are 10 points from safety and comfortably adrift at the bottom of the table with just five games remaining. The Baggies’ next game is a tricky away tie at Manchester United next Sunday at 5pm Egyptian time.
