Smouha holds Al Ahly to a goalless draw in the Egyptian Premier League

Marwan Mohsen started as Smouha played Al Ahly to a goalless draw in the Egyptian Premier League.

Al Ahly maintained position as they aimed to open the scoring early in the game. However, Smouha nearly opened the scoreline in the 22nd minute, through Hossam Hassan who failed to convert the rebound into the back of the net.

17 minutes after the restart, Al Ahly wasted a massive chance as Mohsen dribbled past Smouha’s goalkeeper El-Mahdy Soliman, but his low cross didn’t find anyone.

Three minutes later, Walid Soliman set up a free kick on the right side, however, it ended between El-Mahdy Soliman’s arms.

The Reds continued to push forward to break the deadlock, as Junior Ayayi’s efforts were blocked by Smouha’s defenders following an accurate pass by Islam Mohareb in the 77th minute.

Both teams failed to score any goals until the referee blew the full time whistle.

Mohammed Salama is a 21-year-old who fell in love with football since Egypt's AFCON final match against Ivory Coast! Strangely enough an Al Ahly and Al Masry fan locally. In addition, he's a hardcore Bayern Munich supporter.
