Tunisia’s Youssef Msakni ruled out of FIFA World Cup
Tunisia national team talisman Youssef Msakni has been ruled out of the FIFA World Cup next summer due to injury.
Msakni, 27, sustained a knee injury with his team Al-Duhail which was later confirmed as an Anterior Cruciate Ligament rupture therefore ruling him out of the tournament in Russia next summer.
The unfortunate news was confirmed by his Qatari club. He collected his injury in a league match against Al-Sailiya on the 7th of April and is expected to be out for six months.
The player is considered the most influential player on the Carthage Eagles’ roster and now they will have to do without him as Nabil Maaloul’s men were drawn into a tough group with 1966 world champions England, Belgium and debutants Panama.
Tunisia take on England in their opening match of the group stages on the 18th of June before facing Belgium on the 23rd. They play their final match on the 28th of June against Panama.
