Elneny red against Southampton revoked by Football Association
The Football Association released a statement on Tuesday, revoking Mohamed Elneny’s red card against Southampton and making him available for Arsenal’s next 3 matches.
Egyptian international Mohamed Elneny and Arsenal got good news on Tuesday, with the midfielder being cleared to play after having been previously sent off against Southampton.
The FA ruled that he was wrongly dismissed, saying: “Mohamed Elneny will be available for Arsenal’s next three games after an Independent Regulatory Commission accepted that he was wrongly dismissed for violent conduct against Southampton on Sunday, April 8, 2018”.
Elneny’s red card was given in the 90th minute of the match against Southampton in an eventful game. Arsenal play their next two matches away from home — first against CSKA Moscow in the return leg of the Europa leg quarter-final, and then away to Newcastle in the Premier League.
