Haras El-Hodood clinch promotion back to Egyptian Premier League
Haras El-Hodood have clinched promotion back to the Egyptian Premier League after beating Al-Hammam in the stoppage time on Tuesday.
The Alexandrian side were relegated in the 2015/2016 season after finishing 17th in the league, winning just four games, drawing seven, and losing 23, finishing 16 points away from the safe zone.
And after missing out on promotion last season, they managed to return back to the Premier League after Mohamed Abdelrahman’s late winner secured them Promotion with two games to spare, making it impossible for Kafr El-Sheikh to finish first.
Next season will be their 15th in the top tier, with their best season coming in 2005, when they managed to finish third behind Al Ahly and ENPPI.
Fourth, fifth, and sixth are places which the Alexandrian side managed to finish in between 2005 and 2010, with their team at that time including a number of cult heroes, namely Ahmed Abdel-Ghani, Ahmed Eid, Ahmed Hassan Mekki, Abdel Hamid Bassiouny, Amr El-Dali, Ahmed Said Ouka, Abdel Salam Nagah, Ahmed Salama, and Islam El-Shater.
Haras El-Hodood managed also to win two successive Egypt Cups in 2009 and 2010 as well as lifting the 2009 Egypt Super Cup title.
