Ibrahim, Emam excluded as Zamalek name squad for Ittihad

’s Mohamed Ibrahim and Hazem Emam were both excluded from the 20-man squad that is set to face in gameweek 31 of the league on Thursday.

Zamalek currently sit third on the league table, six points away from second-placed Ismaily, while Ittihad sit 12th on 36 points. The White Knights will be looking to return to winning ways when they host Ittihad at Cairo International Stadium after their disappointing defeat to 11th-placed Misr El-Makkasa on Sunday.

Ehab Galal had announced his resignation following the defeat to Makkasa before deciding to stay until the end of his contract with the club following a meeting with the club officials.

He excluded Ibrahim and Emam from the upcoming game for misconduct during the team’s training session. Director of football Ayman Hafez revealed that the duo were fined EGP 200,000 after talking to Galal in an inappropriate way.

The list saw the return of Congolese forward Kabongo Kasongo after recovering from injury. Ayman Hefny, who was left out of Makkasa game, also returned to the Zamalek squad.
