Egypt continue to fall in FIFA world rankings
Egypt’s national team have dropped two places to 46th spot in FIFA’s monthly global football rankings released on Thursday.
The Pharaohs, who continued to drop for the third month in a row, remained fifth in the African rankings with 636 points. They dropped from 30th to 43rd in February, to 44th in March before becoming 46th in April.
They are preceded by Tunisia, Senegal, Congo DR and Morocco. Tunisia maintained their leading position over the continent but moved up nine places to occupy the 14th spot worldwide.
Egypt’s World Cup opponents Uruguay moved up five spots to become 17th worldwide. Saudi Arabia dropped one place to become 70th, just four spots below Russia who dropped three places to 66th spot.
The Top 10 saw Germany maintain the No.1 spot followed by Brazil, while Belgium moved up two spots to replace Portugal in third place who dropped to fourth. Argentina also dropped to fifth place.
