Emad Meteb: My experience with Al Taawoun was unsuccessful
Egyptian striker Emad Meteb discussed his future and admitted that his time with Al-Taawoun was unsuccessful.
The 35-year-old joined the Saudi Professional League side during the January transfer window on a six-month loan from Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
However, his loan spell didn’t go as planned as he failed to score any goal or provide any assist in his eight appearances for the club.
Meteb made his final official appearance for the club on Thursday, as they lost 3-2 to Al Ettifaq in the final match day of the Saudi Professional League. Following this result Al Taawoun finished seven in the league.
“Al Ettifaq were better than us and took advantage of the opportunities that they got unlike us,” he told MBC Pro Sports during a post match interview
“My experience with Al Taawoun was unsuccessful and I had hoped to produce better performances and help them in the Saudi league and score goals,” he added
He was then asked about his future and which team he hopes to join next, saying: “I have not decided yet but I hope to continue with another team in the Saudi League.
“Zamalek are a big club but I prefer not to comment on this topic right now,” he concluded.
