Shikabala and Kahraba score as Al Raed beat Al Ittihad

and Mahmoud were both on the scoresheet as Al Raed beat 3-1 in match day 26 of the Saudi Professional League.

Shikabala produced a man of the match performance in the final round of the Saudi League as he scored his ninth goal of the season for Al Raed across all competitions.

Al Ittihad almost opened the scoring in the 7th minute but Villanueva’s shot was cleared of the line by an Al Raed defender.

The rest of the first half was quite slow as no team had any clear cut opportunities until the 42nd minute when Ismael Bongoura took a long range shot but it was easily saved by Al Ittihad goalkeeper, Fawaz Al Qarni.

Three minutes later Riyadh Al Ibrahim got passed an Al Ittihad defender and even though he was in a one on one position with the goalkeeper he failed to put the shot on target.

Two minutes into the second half Bongoura’s header hit the post and was then amazingly saved by Al Qarni.

In the 51st minute the Guinean found himself alone inside the penalty box and scored his side’s first goal.

Five minutes later Egypt’s Mahmoud ‘Kahraba’ brilliantly dribbled an Al Raed defender and scored the equalizer after a great finish in the far bottom corner.

In the 66th minute Shikabala made a cross inside the penalty box but it was poorly cleared by Ziad Al Mowalad who put it inside his own net.

The Zamalek loanee then played a great through ball to Riyadh Al Ibrahim behind the Al Ittihad defense but his shot was once again saved by Fawaz Al Qarni.

The Egyptian proved once again that he was the most dangerous player of the game by scoring an incredible free-kick in the 82nd minute. Eight minutes later he nearly scored his side fourth goal but his shot went wide.

Al Ittihad were hoping to at least score the second goal but Fahd Al Ansari’s header was denied by the post.

Following this game Al Raed stay in the thirteenth position on the Saudi Professional League table with 24 points and are set to participate in the relegation playoffs. As for Al Ittihad they are currently ninth on the league table with 33 points.
