Elneny: We’re ready to face any team in semi-final
Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny expressed his side’s readiness to face any opponent in the semi-final of the UEFA Europa League.
The Gunners edged into the competition’s semi-final after earning a 2-2 away draw with CSKA Moscow on Thursday night. They qualified with a 6-3 aggregate score as the first leg at Emirates Stadium ended 4-1.
“CSKA Moscow are a strong team and they took a 2-0 lead. They were very focused and played well as they attempted to score,” Elneny said following the game, which saw him provide the two assists of Arsenal’s two goals.
“But in the second half, we returned to the game and scored two goals,” he said, in reference to Danny Welbeck and Aaron Ramsey second half goals.
“We are ready to face any team in the semi-final,” he added.
The UEFA Europa League draw will be held on Friday at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. Arsenal reached the competition’s semi-final alongside Atletico Madrid, Marseille and RB Salzburg.
“All the teams that reached the semi-final are strong, but our target is to fight and win the title,” he added.
