Arsenal draw Atletico Madrid in Europa League semi-final
Arsenal have been drawn with Atletico Madrid in the semi-final of the UEFA Europa League, while Marseille and Salzburg will face off in the other semi-final.
The Gunners reached the semi final after beating CSKA Moscow 6-3 on aggregate. They earned a big 4-1 win in the first leg in London before drawing 2-2 away from home on Thursday.
The Premier League side will host Atletico Madrid at the Emirates in the first Leg on April 26, before travelling to play the second leg on May 3.
The final of the competition will be held in Lyon, France on 16 May. The winner will secure themselves a spot in next season’s Champions League.
Atletico Madrid, Europa League winners in 2010 and 2012, are considered favourites to win this year’s competition. Winning the title is however Arsenal’s most likely way to secure a place in next year’s Champions League as they’re currently sixth on the Premier League table.
