Dalglish praises ‘fantastic’ Mohamed Salah
The 67-year-old was impressed with the team’s performance against Manchester City in the Champions League quarterfinal, which saw the team secure a semi-final spot with a 5-1 aggregate score.
He also spoke about Salah, who has 39 goals in 44 appearances so far, and praised his character on and off the pitch. The Egypt international has been involved in 50 goals since joining Liverpool as he provided 11 assists.
“He has been fantastic. He must have outlived his own expectations I would have thought”, and certainly you would have thought Jurgen could not have anticipated 39 goals so far,” Dalglish told LFCTV.
“He’s still really humble despite the fact that he’s scored that many goals – and he does his bit on the other side of it when doesn’t have the ball. It’s fantastic.
“It’s been a brilliant bit of business and it’s great to see him saying how happy he is to be here,” Dalglish added.
After securing their Champions League semi-final spot, Liverpool return to domestic action as they face 11th-placed Bournemouth on Saturday.
