Liverpool draw Roma, Real Madrid face Bayern Munich in Champions League semis
Liverpool have been drawn against AS Roma, while Real Madrid will face Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League semi-final.
The draw, which was held on Friday in Nyon, Switzerland, will see Salah play against his former club AS Roma, which he left during the summer transfer window to join Liverpool.
Liverpool cruised past Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City with a 5-1 aggregate victory in the quarter-final. They won 3-0 at Anfield before earning a 2-1 victory away from home, where Salah scored a goal in each game.
Meanwhile, Serie A side AS Roma produced a historic comeback as they beat Barcelona 3-0 to qualify on away goals after they had lost the first leg 4-1 at Camp Nou.
The first leg will be held at Anfield on either April 24 or 25 before the Premier League side travel to play the second leg at Stadio Olimpico on May 1 or 2.
Liverpool avoided a clash with title holders Real Madrid, who survived a scare against Juventus in the quarter-final. The La Liga giants won 3-0 away from home before losing 3-1 at Santiago Bernabéu, in a game that saw Cristiano Ronaldo score a last-gasp penalty to seal their semi-final spot.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich earned a 2-1 victory over Sevilla in the first leg of the quarter-final before playing out a goalless draw in the second leg to secure qualification.
The final of the 2018 Champions League will be held on May 26 in the Olympic Stadium in Kiev, Ukraine.
