Hegazi plays full 90 minutes in West Brom’s shock win at Old Trafford
West Bromwich took the attacking initiative and were denied an early goal as David De Gea brilliantly saved Jack Livermore’s curled shot in the 12th minute.
The Reds reacted quickly as they came close to opening the scoreline in the 19th minute after Juan Mata released Romelu Lukaku in the box, however, the Belgian’s shot was saved by Ben Foster. Sanchez tried to strike the rebound but again Foster reacted immediately.
United increased their work rate in the second half in order to take the lead, but the Baggies maintained composure and strong defence.
71 minutes into the game, Jay Rodriguez managed to break the deadlock for the away side as he calmly headed a loose ball from a corner kick into the back of net, taking the lead for the Baggies.
Following the win, West Brom occupy the last league spot with 24 points and are set to face Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool on the 21st of April.
