Salah matches Premier League great Thierry Henry’s record
Egypt’s Mohamed Salah continues to break records left, right and center, now stamping his mark on the English Premier league by matching one of the best players to ever grace the competition.
Salah managed to become the highest scoring African player in the league’s history after his gob-smacking header against Bournemouth on the 34th matchweek of the English Premier league.

The goal took him to another mark, becoming the first player in Europe’s top five leagues this season to reach 30 goals.
In addition to Henry, Salah managed to equal Robin Van Persie’s best record in a single season as well, when he scored 30 with Arsenal in 2011/12 as well as Kevin Phillips’ astonishing 1999/00 tally with Sunderland.
Salah stands one goal away from Luis Suarez’s tally in 2013/14; Cristiano Ronaldo on the year he won his first Ballon d’Or (2007/08) and Alan Shearer’s second-best goals tally in the 1995/96 season with Blackburn Rovers.
The 25-year-old is fresh from becoming the first player in history to win three Player of the Month awards in one English Premier League season, overtaking legends such as Manchester United’s eternal wizard Ryan Giggs who managed to win the award twice in 23 years of playing.

There is no doubt Salah will break more records and with four matches left to play, he’s got to score five goals to become the highest scoring player in a single season since the ‘Premier League’s inception. He also looks to beat Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne to the PFA Player of the Year award, with the Belgian admitting to having voted for him after his spectacular performances made him deserving of the top gong.
Liverpool take on league-bottom West Bromwich Albion next at the Hawthorns on the 21st of April. They then face 19th-placed Stoke City at Anfield a week later before facing Chelsea at the Bridge and finally host Brighton in the last matchweek. Sandwiched between those fixtures is Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League semi-final double-header against AS Roma.
