sympathies with ’s goal appeal, as he finds it to be the normal thing to do for any striker hoping to compete with .

The former Liverpool striker was named the division’s top scorer 3o years prior when he bagged 26 goals for the Reds. This season he hopes Salah can beat Kane to the Golden Boot yet appreciates the spirit of the English Hitman.

“Harry Kane was ridiculed for claiming last weekend’s goal in Tottenham’s win at Stoke, but I totally sympathize with him and would have done anything possible to get more goals added to my tally,” says Aldridge.

“Proper goal scorers are hungry for goals and Kane is a top player who has got to where he is because he is driven to score in each and every game.

“As a Liverpool man, I want to see Mohamed Salah win the Premier League’s golden boot this season, but Kane has every right to use every method possible to get the goals he needs to finish as top scorer for a third successive season.

“Hopefully Salah is inspired by the competition with Kane and continues to score goals at a rapid rate for Liverpool in the final weeks of the season.”

Last weekend the Pharaoh raised his tally to 30 goals when Liverpool defeated Bournemouth 2-0, increasing the gap between himself and Kane to five goals.

Meanwhile, Tottenham’s no 10 has one game in hand more than Salah before the end of the season, as he is targeting Thierry Henry’s record of three Golden Boots in a row.
