Malang Diedhiou to officiate Al Ahly’s encounter against Esperance
Senegalese referee Malang Diedhiou will officiate the CAF Champions League clash between Al Ahly and Esperance in the African competition’s group stage in May.
Al Ahly have been drawn in Group A with Tunisia’s Esperance Sportive de Tunis, Township Rollers of Rowanda and Uganda’s KCCA.
Al Ahly will initiate their pursuit of a ninth Champions League title with Esperance on May 4, after CAF communicated the official dates of the group stage fixtures, hoping to make up for the failure in last season’s edition when the Red Devils were defeated in the final against Wydad Casablanca.
The African federation announced that Diedhiou was assigned for Al Ahly’s game against Esperance, with Djibril Camara and El-Hadji Malick Samba as two assistants.
Al Ahly have already secured the 40th Egyptian Premier League and will face Assiouty in Egypt Cup quarterfinals after beating Dakhleya in the preceding round.
