Mohamed Salah Champions League Goal of the Week

won the Goal of the Week award for his bold chip goal against Manchester City in the quarter-finals second leg.

Salah scored the equaliser against City after collecting a loose ball and calmly chipping it into the net. The Reds won the game  2-1 at Etihad Stadium and secured their qualification to the semi-final with a 5-1 aggregate score.

The Egyptian winger won the majority of votes surpassing teammate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, as well as Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo for his overhead kick in his side’s 3-0 victory over Juventus, Barcelona’s Luis Suarez for his goal against AS Roma and Juventus’ Mario Mandzukic header in their 3-1 victory over Real Madrid in the second leg.

Salah has enjoyed an incredible debut season at Liverpool in the league and the European competition. He scored a total of nine goals in the Champions League this season and made three assists.
