El-Said departure was the right decision, says El-Badry
Al Ahly manager Hossam El-Badry believes the Red Castle board has taken the right decision when they decided to transfer list Abdallah El-Said.
El-Said was put up for transfer by Al Ahly after the saga which saw him sign for the club’s rivals Zamalek before going back to renew his contract with the Red Devils. After Al Ahly’s decision to transfer list him, the Egypt international joined Finnish outfits Kuopion Palloseura [KuPS] on loan.
“The decision was 100% correct,” El-Badry told Sada El-Balad satellite channel. “Although the decision had some tactical drawbacks as the team lost an important player like El-Said, it was the right decision on the administrative level.”
El-Said was an integral part of the Red Devils squad over the past seven years, as he made over 225 appearances, scoring 67 goals while providing 54 assists.
El-Badry believes the 32-year-old playmaker regretted his decision to sign for Zamalek, saying that his tears before renewing his contract with Al Ahly were an indication of his love for the club and the fans.
El-Said already featured twice for the Finnish side, in which the team suffered two losses at the beginning of the season.
Al Ahli Jeddah president has revealed that the playmaker is set to join the Saudi Arabian club after the conclusion of the World Cup.
