EXCLUSIVE: Zamalek to meet Christian Gross over first team job
Officials from Egyptian giants Zamalek are set to meet with veteran Swiss coach Christian Gross in order to discuss the potentiality of bringing him as the Whites coach, KingFut can confirm.
Zamalek have been struggling yet again this season with their fluctuating results which caused the board to undergo two managerial changes throughout the season but without coming to fruition.
Gross has a wide experience as a coach but spent the majority of his coaching career in Switzerland with FC Basel and Young Boys. Morever, the 63-year-old manager had a three-year stint with KSA giants Al Ahli from 2014 to 2017 where he won one Saudi Professional League title, each of Saudi Crown Cup and King Cup once.
The six-time Swiss Super League champion has shown his willingness to take over the Zamalek job starting from next season, with a a delegation from the club expected travel to meet him in the next few days, according to KingFut sources.
Zamalek hold the third place in the Egyptian Premier League and will be missing out on CAF Champions League football for the second year in a row as they are eight points away from second place side Ismaily, with two games to spare.
