VIDEO: El-Said assists as KuPS defeat Amr Gamal’s HJK
Egypt international Abdallah El-Said assisted as his side KuPS defeated Amr Gamal’s HJK Helsinki 2-1 in gameweek 4 of the Finnish league on Saturday.
This marked Abdallah’s first contribution in three appearances with the Finnish side, which he joined on a two-month loan deal from Al Ahly until the FIFA World Cup.
Slovenian midfielder Filip Valencic gave the hosts an early lead only five minutes after the kick-off. El-Said, who was included in the starting lineup and played the full 90 minutes, provided the assist for KuPS after 36 minutes. The Egypt international’s superb free-kick found Finnish striker Saku Savolainen who slotted home to level the scoreline.
Ilmari Niskanen completed the guests’ comeback as he scored to make it 2-1 with nine minutes to go.
As HJK were pushing for an equaliser in the remaining minutes of the game, Amr Gamal came on to replace Riku Riski in the 84th minute, however, he couldn’t make the difference as El-Said’s side collected the three points away from home.
This marked KuPS’ first win of the league season as they have previously drew once and lost twice. They now sit fifth on the league table with four points. Gamal’s side, however, dropped to second place after suffering their first defeat of the season. They’ve nine points from four games.
