Junior Ajayi excluded as Al Ahly name squad for Petrojet clash

Al Ahly manager Hossam El-Badry has announced his 20-man squad that will face Petrojet in the 33rd round of the Egyptian Premier League.

Al Ahly have already won the Premier League title, but they have plenty of targets to aim for in the remaining league matches. The Reds want to break more record to end the season on a high.

Manager Hossam El-Badry has decided to rest a number of key players for the Cairo derby next Thursday, as he excluded each of Mohamed El-Shennawy, Junior Ajayi, and Ayman Ashraf.

Hossam Ashour, Phakamani Mahlambi, Ali Maaloul, Ahmed Hamoudi, Akram Tawfik, Mahmoud El-Gazzar, and Ahmed Yasser Rayan have been also left out of the squad.

On the other hand, Mohamed Sherif, Hesham Mohamed, Mohamed Hany, and Marwan Mohsen were named in Hossam El-Badry’s list.

Al Ahly are currently top of the league with 82 points, while Petrojet sit 12th with 39. Their game will take place on Sunday, April 22 at 17:45 CLT.

Goalkeepers: Sherif Ekramy, Ali Lotfi, Ramadan Mostafa.

Defenders: Bassem Ali, Mohamed Naguib, Sabry Rahil, Ahmed Fathy, Mohamed Hany, Saad Samir.

Midfielders: Karim Nedved, Mohamed Sherif, Islam Mohareb, Amr El-Sulya, Hesham Mohamed, Mido Gaber, Walid Soliman, Hossam Ghaly, Ahmed Hamdi.

Attackers: Walid Azaro, Marwan Mohsen.
