OFFICIAL: Sam Morsy's Wigan seal promotion to Championship
’s  have returned back to the Championship following their 4-0 victory over Fleetwood Town on Saturday.

Goals from Power, Massey, Burn, and Dunkley put Wigan 10 points ahead of third-placed Shrewsbury Town, with only three games to go, meaning that the latter can no longer catch them in the table.

The Latics were only relegated last season, when they finished 23rd in the Championship, but it took them just one season to seal automatic promotion to the second tier.

The remaining automatic promotion spot will most likely go to former Premier League champions Blackburn Rovers, who need only three points from nine to play Championship football next season.

The promotion is Sam Morsy’s second one with Wigan after the Egypt international managed to clinch the 2015-2016 League One title in his debut season with the Latics.

Sam Morsy joined Wigan in January 2016 from Chesterfield, and has gone on to represent them in over than 75 games across all competitions, scoring five goals as well as providing four assists.

He will be hoping to be part of the Egypt squad that will travel to the 2018 World Cup, despite making only three international appearances under Argentine manager Hector Cuper.
