Arsenal reveal extent of Mohamed Elneny injury
Arsene Wenger was forced to substitute Mohamed Elneny 10 minutes before halftime following a wrong landing by the midfielder on his left ankle.
The player’s injury worried the manager as they prepare to take on Atletico Madrid in the Europa League semi-final. In addition to that, Elneny is a key player in the Egyptian national team heading to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
“The Arsenal medical staff do not think Elneny’s injury is serious at all,” Sky Sports reporter Geoff Shreeves confirmed. “No serious damage had been done.”
After enduring a difficult start to life at the Emirates, the Egyptian is now enjoying his best season in England as he started to play more regularly for Arsenal this season. His impressive form was rewarded with a long-term contract.
