Cuper praises Salah, urges him to stay on top
Following his PFA award Sunday night, Egypt’s national team coach Hector Cuper congratulated Mohamed Salah on his achievement and warned him that staying on top could be more difficult than reaching the top.
The Pharaoh received PFA award beating Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne and Tottenham’s Harry Kane, thanks to the votes of his fellow players.
Salah has been sensational for both club and country this year, which pushed Egypt’s coach Cuper to ask the Egyptian to concentrate on maintaining his form.
“I hope that Salah continues his successful journey. He has developed a lot in the last two seasons on both club and national levels.
“Salah has reached the top of the football world, and staying at the top is very difficult and needs a lot work and effort. The more effort you make, the more you develop.
“He has to be aware that the better he gets, the greater his responsibilities and burdens become,” he added.
What Salah does in the Champions League and the World Cup could determine if Liverpool’s top scorer could claim more individual trophies by the end of the season. He is already in the race for the Golden Boot with Cristiano Ronaldo, Ciro Immobile, Leonel Messi and Robert Lewandowski, yet the No.11 could now dream with sharp vision towards achieving the Ballon d’Or.
