Roma legend Totti admits to watching Liverpool games because of Salah
The Reds forward played with Totti during his two-year stint at Roma, and always confessed about his very good relationship with the Giallorossi icon.
“This season I’ve seen a number of games of Liverpool, especially because Mo Salah is now playing there, I’ve been following it consistently,” Totti said before Roma travel to Anfield to face Liverpool.
“Especially after the draw, over the past few days I’ve been watching their Champions League games and I really think it’s going to be a tough game for both teams.”
Since he rejoined the Premier League last summer coming from Roma, Salah has fired 41 goals in all competitions for the Reds and is now one of only three players in Liverpool’s history to exceed the 40 goals margin.
“To some extent, it surprises me that [Salah] has been doing so well in his first season at Liverpool.
“But, on the other hand, considering the quality of the squad, the coach they have – Klopp, to me, is one of the best coaches in the world – it didn’t surprise me.
“They put him in the condition to express himself at his best,” he added.
The Egypt international recently added another special individual award as he won the PFA Player of the Year Award beating off competition from Manchester City trio David Silva, Kevin de Bruyne, and Leroy Sane as well as Tottenham striker Harry Kane and Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea.
