Manolas: Salah a good friend of mine but we will do our best to stop him
Salah will be lining up with Liverpool on Tuesday night to face his former club Roma in the first leg of the Champions League semifinal which represents a special encounter for him.
The 25-year-old winger has spent two years at Roma where he scored 34 goals and delivered 24 assists in a total of 83 games played for the Giallorossi.
“He [Salah] is a very good player, a good friend of mine. He calls me, I call him. I congratulate him on what he has done this season,” Manolas told UEFA.com.
“But my teammates and I will do our best to stop him and the rest of the Liverpool players. It’s not everyday that you play in a semifinal and you should give everything you have.”
Salah, along with Roberto Firmino, has a chance to break another record with a goal in one of the semifinal legs and become the first Liverpool player to score nine goals in a single Champions League campaign.
