RC Lens manager: Karim Hafez ready to return for last 3 games

Pharaohs Abroad

manager Erik Sikora said is set to return to action for Lens, after the Egyptian fullback was sidelined with an ankle injury.

The left back has been out since January 19 after having surgery to repair his right ankle, an injury he picked up during training. Hafez had predicted he would be back on the field in mid-April, and it appears his timeline was accurate.

Sikora spoke about Hafez’s return, saying, “Training with the group is a good thing, he has the opportunity to participate in the last three games.”

Hafez last played for Egypt in November, and figures to be a key part of Hector Cuper’s plans. He was part of the March camp for Egypt, despite being unable to participate due to his injury.

Lens sit in 16th place in Ligue 2, and will be looking forward to the Egyptian’s help in order to avoid relegation. The French outfit finished in 5th place last year, but were in the title challenge until the end of the season.

Hafez has contributed 2 goals and 3 assists in 17 league matches so far this season.
