Salah nominated for Champions League Player of the Week award

has been nominated for the UEFA Champions League Player of the Week award after his impressive performance against AS Roma.

The Egypt international scored a brace and provided two assists as earned a 5-2 victory over the Serie A side in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final at Anfield.

Salah opened the scoring against his former club with a wonderful curling effort from the edge of the box after 35 minutes before chipping the ball over Alisson Becker to make it 2-0 just before half time. He then turned provider to Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino in the second half.

The 25-year-old’s impressive performance saw him nominated for the award alongside Real Madrid full-back Marcelo, who scored a goal in the Spanish giants’ 2-1 win over Bayern Munich at Allianz Arena on Wednesday.

The former AS Roma winger has now scored 43 goals in all competitions since his summer move from the Serie A side.
