OFFICIAL: 15,000 to attend Al Ahly’s clash against Espérance
Al Ahly will host the Tunisian side at Borg El-Arab on Friday, May 4 in the first round of group A of the CAF Champions League.
The Red Devils wanted to play at the Cairo International Stadium, but the security officials refused after the riots that broke out between a part of Al Ahly fans who were attending their side’s game against CF Mounana last month.
And now only 15,000 supporters will fill 86,000-seat Borg El-Arab Stadium, hoping that their club will start the group with a win over the Tunisian giants.
Al Ahly were drawn in group A alongside Botswana’s Township Rollers, Kampala City of Uganda, and Espérance de Tunis.
Eight-time Champions League winners Al Ahly are the only Egyptian club remaining in the competition after Misr El-Makkasa were knocked out by Senegal’s Génération Foot.
