Walid Azaro ruled out of Al Assiouty Egypt Cup clash

forward has been ruled out of his side’s clash against Al Assiouty in quarter-final on Monday due to injury.

The Moroccan striker has had an exceptional first season with the Egyptian giants as he became the foreigner with the most goals in a single Egyptian Premier League season (18).

However, he picked up an injury during Al Ahly’s 2-1 win over Petrojet on matchday 33 in the league that saw him miss out on the Cairo derby against Zamalek, and he is now not going to be available during his side’s Cup clash against Al Assiouty.

Al Ahly medical staff confirmed that he will not be available on Monday but he is expected to come back before their game against Esperance Sportif de Tunis in the CAF Champions League next Friday.

The Red Devils have been crowned Egyptian champions for the 40th in their history this season and are now looking to complete the domestic double as they are preparing to compete for the Egypt Cup.

They were drawn in Group A in the Champions League alongside Esperance de Tunis, Kampala Capital City FC and Township Rollers FC and will kick-off group stage campaign against Esperance on Friday.
