Elneny returns to training ahead of schedule after ankle injury
Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny has returned to training for Arsenal ahead of schedule, after suffering an ankle injury against West Ham last week.
Elneny was originally ruled out for the rest of the Arsenal season, with manager Arsene Wenger stating that the injury looked bad. Wenger had also said, “I think he will be available for Egypt at the World Cup but not anymore for Arsenal.”
Although the former Basel man trained with Arsenal this weekend, he is not considered to be in contention for their match against Manchester United on Sunday. Elneny did not take part in ball work and trained alone.
Elneny seems to be in good spirits and posted about training on his social media.

Elneny will be eager to return ahead of Arsenal’s second leg clash against Atletico in the Europa League semi-finals.
