Ekramy, Nedved excluded as Al Ahly name squad for Egypt Cup clash


Al Ahly manager Hossam El-Badry has excluded and from the squad that will face Sport in the quarter-finals.

Title holders Al Ahly will face Aly Maher’s men on Monday, with the Red Devils eying the domestic double after securing the Premier League title.

Sherif Ekramy, Karim Nedved, and Mohamed Sherif are set to miss out on the encounter for tactical reasons, while Saad Samir was excluded after picking up an injury in Ahly’s loss against Zamalek on Thursday.

Ahmed Hamoudi, Ali Maaloul, and the league’s top scorer Walid Azaro were also excluded for injury. On the other hand, Ali Lotfy, Bassem Ali, Hossam Ghaly, Ahmed Hamdi, and Ahmed Yasser Rayan were named in the squad.

Al Ahly Squad:

Goalkeepers: Mohamed El-Shennawy, Ali Lotfy, Ramadan Moustafa.

Defenders: Ahmed Fathi, Ayman Ashraf, Mohamed Naguib, Sabry Rahil, Bassem Ali, Mohamed Hany.

Midfielders: Hossam Ghaly, Hossam Ashour, Hesham Mohamed, Amr El-Sulaya, Ahmed Hamdi, Walid Soliman, Islam Mohareb, Mido Gaber.

Forwards: Junior Ajayi, Salah Mohsen, Ahmed Yasser Rayan, Marwan Mohsen, Phakamani Mahlambi.
